No. 22 Women's Soccer Advances to BIG EAST Championship Match with 7-0 Win Over UConn

Erbach posts hat trick, Hansson, Dancer, Pennekamp and Brill post goals
BOYDS, Md. - A hat trick from Samantha Erbach and goals from Hansson, Dancer, Pennekamp and Brill led No. 22 Xavier women's soccer to a 7-0 win over Connecticut in the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals at Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Md., on Thursday evening.
Samantha Erbach's 15th goal of the season came on a penalty kick in the 30th minute, following a handball in the box by UConn, giving Xavier the 1-0 lead, and shortly before the half, she added her 16th, from Emma Flick, to give Xavier the 2-0 lead at the half.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Elin Hansson scored from Emma Flick to give Xavier the 3-0 advantage, and Regan Dancer scored after speeding past the defense in the 55th minute, making it a 4-0 Musketeer advantage.
Samantha Erbach completed the hat trick in the 72nd minute, off Emma Flick's third assist of the day, and less than five minutes later, Presley Pennekamp scored off the rebound of a save to make it a 6-0 Xavier advantage.
Penny Brill capped off the scoring in the final two minutes, scoring off a header on a pass from Sara Parker, to set the final score at 7-0, matching the largest margin of victory in BIG EAST Championship history.
Xavier now advances to the BIG EAST Championship match for the fourth-straight season, and fifth time overall, and will take on No. 1 seed Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 9, set for a noon start on ESPN+.

76' | XAVIER | Alexis Morrison served the ball from the left side of the field into the front of the net, and following a UConn save, Presley Pennekamp shot low, found the rebound from her own shot and tapped it in for the 6-0 advantage.
89' | XAVIER | Sara Parker served the ball from the right side of the box to Penny Brill in front of the net. Brill finished with a header to set the score at 7-0.
- Samantha Erbach finished with her second hat trick of the season and her sixth multi-goal game of the season. She now has 17 goals for the season, tied for second most single season goals in program history. Combined with her NCAA leading 14 assists, she has 48 points, the second most in single season in program history and the most in NCAA DI as of 11/6. Her 30th minute goal was her second game-winner of the season.
- Elin Hansson added her 15th goal of the season, trailing only Erbach among BIG EAST players. Combined with five assists, she has 35 points.
- Regan Dancer scored her fourth goal of the season, combined with 10 assists to bring her career-high point total to 18 points.
- Presley Pennekamp recorded her third goal of the season, combining with three assists to give her nine points.
- Penny Brill scored her first collegiate goal, the 13th Musketeer to record a goal this season, and 16th to record a point.
- Emma Flick had a career-high three assists to give her seven for the season. Combined with seven goals, she has a career-high 21 points for the year.
- Sara Parker picked up her fourth assist of the season on Penny Brill's goal. Combined with a goal, she has six points for her freshman season.
- The Musketeers' seven-goal margin of victory matched the BIG EAST Championship record, set three times previously.
- Xavier now has 66 goals from the season, second most in program history and one away from tying the school record of 67, set in 1984.
- The Musketeers' school-record point total now stands at 197.
- Xavier plays for its second BIG EAST Championship title on Sunday, also winning the tournament in 2019.
- The Musketeers have advanced to the BIG EAST Championship match four times in a row (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) and also played in the match in 2019 when the Musketeers claimed the tournament title.
