MacKenzie Givens Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - MacKenzie Givens was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. She earns the honors for the first time in her career.

Givens led Xavier to a 2-0 week with a BIG EAST win over Providence on Dec. 4 (W, 61-47) and a win at crosstown rival Cincinnati on Dec. 7 (W, 77-70). The sophomore guard/forward averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She had a .464 field-goal percentage (13-for-28) and went 1-for-5 from behind the arc and 8-for-8 from the foul line. Givens added three steals, two assists and one block.

The Cincinnati native scored a game and career-high 25 points vs the Bearcats on Dec. 7. Givens added a game and career-high eight rebounds vs Cincinnati.

Givens and the Musketeers are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 9 vs Long Island. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.
