Zach Freemantle Named BIG EAST Player Of The Week

Freemantle has earned a weekly league honor three times this season.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate student Zach Freemantle has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week, his third BIG EAST honor this season, after averaging 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in a pair of wins this past week. Freemantle had 23 points and nine rebounds at Providence on Feb. 15 and 19 points and nine rebounds vs. DePaul on Feb. 15. This is the first BIG EAST Player of the Week this season for Freemantle, who previously earned BIG EAST Honor Roll honors twice in December.
Freemantle has scored in double figures in all 23 games he has played this season, the longest single season streak of his career. His active streak stands at 24-straight games in double figures since the last game he played before this season (2023 at Creighton) he also scored in double figures. Freemantle leads the team in scoring (sixth in the BIG EAST at 17.0 ppg.) and leads the team in rebounding (fourth in the BIG EAST at 7.2 rpg.). He is fourth in the BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 5.4 drpg., third in field goal percentage at .502 (144-287) and 11th in free throw percentage at .760 (79-104).
Xavier, 16-10 overall and 8-7 in the BIG EAST Conference, hosts Butler on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
