Baseball Falls in Game One at Stanford

Musketeers play the Cardinal in a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 4 PM ET
STANFORD, Calif.  - Xavier baseball opened up the series at Stanford with a 10-2 loss on Friday evening, moving to 5-4 on the season
After two scoreless innings, Xavier took the lead in the third after singles from Jake Lambdin, Carter Hendrickson and Aedan Anderson loaded the bases with no outs. Connor Misch singled through the left side to bring in Lambdin and Hendrickson, putting the Musketeers in front, 2-0.
Stanford responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to even it up at 2-2, and the tie held into the sixth when the Cardinal added a run to take a 3-2 lead. The one-run advantage held into the eighth inning when Stanford posted a seven-run frame to extend the lead to 10-2. The Cardinal held the Musketeers off the board for the final frame to seal the win.
The four-game series at Stanford continues on Saturday with a doubleheader, with game one set for 4:05 PM ET and game two of the doubleheader to follow.
