STANFORD, Calif.  - Xavier baseball wrapped up the four-game series at Stanford with an 11-3 win, splitting the series with the Cardinal. The Musketeers moved to 7-5 overall with the win, while Stanford wrapped up the series at 10-2, with both losses on the season coming against Xavier.
Xavier took the lead in the second inning, with Isaac Wachsmann getting hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, followed by singles from Eddie Peters and Jason Jelic to load the bases with no outs. Carter Hendrickson hit a two-out double down the left field line to drive in Peters, Jelic and JD Crisp, who got aboard on a fielder's choice, making it a 3-0 Musketeer lead.
Stanford added two runs on solo homers in the third and fourth innings to cut the lead to one, but the Musketeers extended the lead with another three-run frame in the fifth. Xavier's first two batters, Hendrickson and Aedan Anderson, got on after being hit by pitches, then came home on a triple from Connor Misch. A single from Wachsmann brought in Misch to make it a 6-2 Xavier lead.
