CINCINNATI - Xavier women's golf continues its spring season at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate on March 3-4. The two-day tournament is being played at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.

LAST TIME OUT

Xavier placed third at the WMU Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 23. The three-day tournament was played at Rio Verde CC.
The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 869 (+5), placing third in a field of 21 teams. Cal Baptist won the tournament with a score of 864 (E), while Illinois State earned runner-up honors (865, +1).
Individually, freshman Isabel Brozena placed tied for fourth with a score of 215 (-1) - her first top-10 finish at Xavier. Pusanisa Ekkantrong (Cal Baptist) took home medalist honors in a field of 103 golfers with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9).
Madison Reemsnyder (9th) and Emma Welch (t-10th) both posted top-10 finishes.

BIG EAST WEEKLY AWARDS

Kara Carter and Madison Reemsnyder were named the BIG EAST Golfers of the Week on Sept. 25. Carter earns the honors for the fourth time in her career, while Reemsnyder picks up the recognition for the first time her her career.
Isabel Brozena was named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Feb. 27.

NOTABLES

Kara Carter, Erin Kim, Madison Reemsnyder, Darrelyn Webster and Emma Welch were named to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team on July 1.
Carter, Kim, Reemsnyder and Welch were also named 2024 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team selected by College Sports Communicators on June 25.
Madison Reemsnyder won the 2024 Ohio Women's Open on June 13. Emma Welch won the MGA Women's Amateur on July 30 and earned a spot at U.S. Women's Amateur.
Newcomer Isabel Brozena won the Massachusetts Girls Junior Am on Aug. 9. She also won the MIAA State Individual Championship in 2023 and 2024.
Xavier returns four golfers from the 2023-24 roster that captured the program's fifth straight BIG EAST Championship in the spring of 2024.
The Musketeers return two All-BIG EAST performers in Kara Carter and Emma Welch. Carter earned the honors for the third straight year, while Welch picked up the recognition for the first time in her career after taking medalist honors at the conference championship.
Xavier welcomes three newcomers in Isabel Brozena (North Reading, Mass.), Ivanna Flores (Caracas, Venezuela) and Eleanor Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Creighton).
Kara Carter has 12 career top-10 finishes. Emma Welch has three career top-10 finishes. Madison Reemsnyder has eight career top-10 finishes. Darrelyn Webster has one career top-10 finish. Eleanor Hudepohl has 13 career top-10 finishes.
Since the start of the 2022-23 season, the Musketeers have posted 14 top-five finishes with five tournament titles and three runner-up finishes.

HISTORY

Xavier won its fifth straight BIG EAST Championship on April 22 at Callawassie Island Golf Club. The Musketeers matched former member Notre Dame for the most BIG EAST Championships in conference history (5). The five straight conference titles is also the most consecutive championships in BIG EAST history.
Since the start of the 2022-23 season, the Musketeers have posted 12 top-five finishes with four tournament titles and three runner-up finishes.
Coach Jenco earned BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors for the fifth time in her career in May of 2023. She also picked up the honors in 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
