Xavier picked up a pair of singles decisions, with Kyle Totorica winning, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, on the No. 5 court, and Andrew Spurck taking a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win on the No. 6 court.
Ryan Cahill fell in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (2), on court No. 1 and Alex Kotarski fell, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, on No. 4.
Butler also picked up wins on the No. 2 court, 6-4, 6-0, against Pascal Mosberger, and on the No. 3 court, 6-0, 6-4, against Christian Gonzalez, to set the final score at 5-2.
