Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

Pair went 2-0 over the weekend in No. 2 doubles spot

NEW YORK - After going 2-0 in the No. 2 doubles spot over the weekend, helping Xavier to a pair of wins, Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Kotarski, a freshman from Hinsdale, Ill., and Spurck, a freshman from Palatine, Ill., combined to take a 6-3 win against Bellarmine on Thursday, clinching the doubles point for Xavier on the way to a 4-3 win.

The pair picked up the first doubles decision for Xavier against Omaha on Saturday, a 6-3 win to help Xavier take the doubles point and pick up the 5-2 win over the Mavericks, marking Xavier's fifth-straight win. The duo has now won four straight, all in the No. 2 spot.

Xavier will travel to Jacksonville State on Saturday, March 8, set for a 2:00 p.m. ET start.
