PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. - Xavier University's golf team turned in an impressive performance at the 2025 Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge held at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, SC. With a solid score of 277 (-11), the Musketeers currently sit in third place overall, just one stroke behind leaders Marshall and Jacksonville State, who are tied at -12.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Ray Filter sits in a tie for 9th place after round 1 finishing with a score of -3. He played consistently well, staying under par for the majority of his round with a strong performance on the back nine.
- Carson Bellish posted a solid score of -2, tied for 19th, with a steady performance all day.
- Zach Burton led the way with a -4 score, he is currently tied for 7th overall. He had a solid opening round with consistent play across the course and key shots that kept him near the top of the leaderboard.
- Kellen Dean never got the putter going and finished at +3, tying for 68th. Despite a tough start, Â Dean will look to bounce back in the coming rounds.
- A.J. Wilhelm also finished at -2, tying for 19th, with a very consistent round, including a strong back nine performance to keep the Musketeers competitive.
- Par 3s:
- Xavier's average score of 2.96 on Par 3 holes reflects solid play, putting them just behind the top-performing teams, such as Mercer (2.76) and North Alabama (2.88). Their ability to remain consistent on these holes will be crucial as they move into the next rounds.
- Par 4s:
- Xavier's team average of 3.98 on Par 4s places them tied for 3rd, alongside Marshall. This is a strong performance, particularly when compared to other top teams like Jacksonville State (3.83) and USC Upstate (3.98).
