Moore shot 41 percent from 3-point range at Montana last season.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletic aid agreement from 6-5 guard Malik Moore, who played last season at Montana and two seasons before that at Pepperdine. Moore was the second-leading scorer for the Griz this past season at 12.6 ppg., helping lead them to a Big Sky Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
"Malik has the size, skill, and versatility we were looking for at the guard spot," said Pitino. "He can light it up from 3 and can finish at the rim. He's a veteran and a winner."
Moore ranked 14th in the Big Sky Conference in scoring at 12.6 ppg. He hit 40.9 percent (61-149) from 3-point range, while ranking fifth in the Big Sky in 3-pointers made per game at 2.0. He hit 83.1 percent (59-71) from the free throw line, which would have ranked third in the Big Sky but his 2.0 free throws made per game were below the 2.5 made minimum.
Moore was a 37.7 percent (63-167) 3-point shooter for his two seasons at Pepperdine.
