Richard Pitino Announces The Signing Of 7-0 Center Kason Westphal

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University men's basketball head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletic aid agreement from 7-0 center Kason Westphal, who played earlier this year at Fear of God Athletics, an affiliate of Overtime Elite located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"We are excited to welcome Kason Westphal to our basketball program," said Pitino. "He's got the size and skill that we look for at the center position. Kason's best basketball is ahead of him. We can't wait to work with him."
Westphal, a Salida, Colo., native, averaged 15.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game in the 2023-24 season at Salida High School, earning CHSAA/Max Prep All-State Second Team honors. He led his team to the Class 3A Great 8 after posting a 20-5 record in the regular season. He averaged 9.8 ppg. and 7.0 rpg. in the 2023-23 season.
