Xavier Opens Golden Grizzlies Invitational with Win Over Eastern Michigan

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Xavier volleyball team returned to the win column with a 3-1 victory over Eastern Michigan at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational.
The Musketeers hit above .210 in all four sets and above .430 in both sets one and three en route to their highest attack percentage of the season.
XU rolled to a first-set victory with 16 kills on a .438 clip while holding the Eagles to just a .029 percentage.Â
EMU responded with 14 kills of their own in the second set to even up the match with a 25-22 set win.Â
The Musketeers hit a match-best .444 in the third set to retake the lead behind Charlotte Moriarty's six kills in the frame.
Xavier closed out the win by holding EMU to a -.040 hitting percentage in the fourth set.
XU improves to 7-1 with the win while the Eagles drop to 5-3.
