Musketeers Fall to No. 16 Creighton

Xavier dropped a three-set road match at No. 16 Creighton on Friday night to move to 1-1 in BIG EAST play.
OMAHA, Neb. - The Xavier volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match (18-25, 23-25, 16-25) to No. 16 Creighton in D.J. Sokol Arena on Friday night in the Musketeers' first BIG EAST road trip of the season.
Emma Grace had four kills in the first set while the Musketeers combined for three blocks, but the Bluejays offense had four players record at least three kills each to take the first set.
The Musketeers held CU to just a .056 clip in a back-and-forth second set that saw 15 ties and six lead changes. XU took advantage of a 4-0 run early in the set to take an 11-8 lead, but the Bluejays fought back to sneak out a two-point set win.
Creighton hit a massive .444 in the final set and recorded three aces on XU to secure the sweep.
The Musketeers drop just their second match of the season to move to 12-2 (1-1 BIG EAST) while the Bluejays improve to 8-5 (1-0 BIG EAST).

Xavier travels to Georgetown and Villanova next week to continue the BIG EAST schedule. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. against the Hoyas in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Oct. 3.
