Meri Kanerva had 15 points and four assists on Tuesday night

OMAHA, Neb. - Xavier dropped an 82-64 BIG EAST road game at Creighton on Tuesday night at D.J. Sokol Arena.

The Musketeers moved to 10-9 (3-7 BIG EAST), while the Bluejays improved to 8-11 (4-6 BIG EAST).

Xavier returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 25 vs Georgetown. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Cintas Center with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

NOTABLES

Creighton never trailed in the game and led for 37:36 in the game. Xavier closed within seven points (65-58) on a MacKenzie Givens three pointer with 6:22 left in regulation. The Bluejays outscored the Musketeers, 17-6, to close the game and pull away for the 18-point win.
Xavier had four players in double figures for the second time this season: Mariyah Noel (16), Meri Kanerva (15), MacKenzie Givens (11) and Savannah White (10).
Mariyah Noel finished with 16 points and a team-high six rebounds. She added two steals. The guard now has 15 career double-figure scoring games.
Meri Kanerva had 15 points and a game-high four assists. The guard added two rebounds and two steals. She now has a team-leading 27 career double-figure scoring games.
MacKenzie Givens had 11 points and a team-high six rebounds. She added one assist and one steal. The Cincinnati native now has 10 career double-figure scoring games.
Savannah White scored 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting and pulled down five rebounds. The forward added two assists and one steal. She now has 12 career double-figure scoring games.
Petra Oborilova had eight points, three rebounds and two assists. Vivien Nejašmić pulled down four rebounds and scored two points.
Xavier finished with a .365 field-goal percentage (23-for-63) and went 7-for-20 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 11-for-15 from the foul line.
Creighton won the battle on the glass, 46-36, and scored 10 more second-chance points (21-11) than Xavier. The Bluejays also held a 17-4 advantage in bench points and had 10 more points in the paint (36-26).
Creighton held a 9-5 advantage in fastbreak points and scored eight more points off of turnovers (17-9).
Creighton posted a .449 field-goal percentage (31-for-69) and went 8-for-33 from behind the arc. The Bluejays also went 12-for-18 from the foul line.
Grace Boffeli posted a double-double, scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds.
