Tre Carroll leads four Musketeers in double figures

CHICAGO - Four Musketeers hit double figures as Xavier men's basketball fell, 86-77, to DePaul on Saturday afternoon at Wintrust Arena.

Xavier dropped to 9-6 (1-3 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Blue Demons moved to 9-6 (1-3 BIG EAST).

The Musketeers return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Marquette. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. ET with the game being aired nationally on FS1.

NOTABLES

The first half featured four lead changes, with DePaul leading by as many as seven, and Xavier going ahead by as many as three before the Blue Demons took a 40-37 lead into halftime. Malik Messina-Moore led Xavier with seven points in the first half.
Xavier scored the first four points of the second half to retake the lead, 41-40, before DePaul used a 5-0 run to move back in front, holding the lead into the final seven minutes. Xavier tied the game at 63-63 with 6:42 remaining before the Blue Demons retook the lead, going ahead by as many as 11 before winning by nine, 86-77.
Tre Carroll led the Musketeers with 17 points after scoring 11 in the second half. He also grabbed seven rebounds.
Roddie Anderson III added 15 points, hitting double figures in all four BIG EAST games this season.
Malik Messina-Moore added 14 points for the Musketeers, also hitting double figures in the last four outings.
Filip Borovicanin posted 10 points and 10 rebounds for his third-straight, and sixth overall, double-double.
DePaul held a narrow 35-34 advantage on the boards overall, with the Blue Demons leading 27-19 on defensive boards. Xavier held a 15-8 advantage on the offensive glass.
