CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier dropped a 78-38 BIG EAST matchup vs Villanova on Wednesday night at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers moved 11-14 (4-12 BIG EAST), while the Wildcats improved to 20-5 (13-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier returns to Cintas Center on Wednesday, Feb. 18 vs Seton Hall. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

- Villanova never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 42 points (71-29) at the end of the third quarter. Xavier outscored the Wildcats, 9-7, in the fourth quarter for the 78-38 final score.
- Meri Kanerva was the lone Musketeer in double figures with 13 points on 5-for-13 shooting. She added two steals and one rebound.
- MacKenzie Givens added five points and four rebounds. Mariyah Noel finished with four points, three rebounds and two assists.
- Vivien Nejašmić had three points, three rebounds and a team-high three assists. Lucía Martínez López pulled down a team-high six rebounds in 25 minutes of action off the bench (the six rebounds matched her career high).
- Xavier finished with a .277 field-goal percentage (13-for-47), the team's second lowest percentage on the season. The Musketeers were also 7-for-27 from behind the arc and 5-for-6 from the foul line.
- Villanova posted a .458 field-goal percentage (33-for-72) and went 11-for-33 from behind the arc. The Wildcats were also 1-for-4 from the foul line.
- Villanova won the battle on the glass, 48-27, and scored 14 more second-chance points (17-3) than Xavier. The Wildcats also held a 31-7 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored 17 more bench points (28-11).
- Villanova held a 15-0 advantage in fastbreak points and scored 28 more points in the paint (36-8).
- Jasmine Bascoe led three Wildcats in double figures with 18 points. She added a team-high seven assists. Kylee Watson pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
