Xavier's home opener against Indiana moved to Wednesday at 2 PM
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Xavier fell, 11-0, in eight innings in the series finale at No. 8 Arkansas on Sunday afternoon at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The Razorback took a 3-0 lead in the first, and added a pair of runs in the second and fourth innings to lead 7-0. Xavier's pitching held the Hogs off the board for the next three frames, with the Musketeers staff facing the minimum in the fifth and sixth, but a four-run eighth inning, capped by a three-run home run, ended the game on a run rule at 11-0.
Peter Johnson got aboard with a single in the second inning before Arkansas'Â Colin Fisher retired the next 20 batters. Fisher pitched the full 8.0 innings in the start, allowing just one base runner on one hit, and collecting a career-high 11 strikeouts, marking the first time Xavier has been shutout since April 23, 2025.
The Musketeers return to Cincinnati to open the home schedule, hosting Indiana on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 2:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at Hayden Field.
