Abby Nugent and Clara Owen Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

Duo picked up a win over No. 88 pair from Michigan State
NEW YORK - Xavier women's tennis' duo of Abby Nugent and Clara Owen were named the BIG EAST Double Team of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Nugent, a senior from Springboro, Ohio, and Owen, a sophomore from Dayton, Ohio, helped Xavier secure the doubles point against Michigan State with a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court over the No. 88 ranked pair of Ellie Blackford and Matilde Morais, topping the pair 6-3 to give the Musketeers the 1-0 lead.
The Musketeers are set for a pair of matches next weekend, starting with a road trip to Lexington, Ky., to face Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 14, set for a 10:00 a.m. start.Â
