Abby Nugent and Clara Owen Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

Pair went 2-0 over the weekend in No. 1 doubles spot
NEW YORK -Â Abby Nugent Clara Owen were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week after the pair went 2-0 in No. 1 doubles spot during a 2-0 weekend for Xavier in Memphis.
Against Denver, Nugent, a senior from Springboro, Ohio, and Owen, a sophomore from Dayton Ohio, clinched the point on court No. 1, 7-6 (3) to help Xavier to the 4-2 win over the No. 59 Pioneers. The pair also combined to take a 6-2 win in No. 1 doubles to help clinch the doubles point in the 4-1 win over Memphis.Â
This is the pair's third weekly honor of the season, also earning it the weeks of 2/9 and 3/16.
Xavier travels north this weekend for a pair of BIG EAST matches, starting with a trip to Milwaukee, Wisc., to face Marquette on Friday, April 3, set for a 3 p.m. ET start.
