Baseball Falls in Game One at No. 18 Oregon State

Musketeers and Beavers return to action on Saturday at 6:05 PM ET
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Xavier baseball fell in the opening game of the four-game series at No. 18 Oregon State, 4-2, on Friday evening at Goss Stadium.
Oregon took a 4-0 lead with a four-run second inning, holding Xavier off the board until the fifth when Landon Mensik hit a solo home run to cut the lead to 4-1.
The Beavers' three-run lead held into the ninth when Tommy Townsend cut it two with a solo home run, but the Musketeers were unable to get any closer, setting the final score at 4-2.
The series with the Beavers resumes on Saturday evening, with game two set for a 6:05 p.m. ET start. Game two will be shown over the air locally in Portland, Ore., on KOIN. The streaming option for Saturday's game starts at 8:00 p.m. ET on Pac-12 Insider and KOIN+.
