Xavier Drops Second of Four Games at No. 18 Oregon State

Musketeers and Beavers return to action on Sunday at 6:05 PM ET
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Xavier baseball dropped game two of four at No. 18 Oregon State, falling 7-2 on Saturday evening at Goss Stadium.
Xavier struck first, taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Mitchell Morton got aboard with a two-out walk, JD Crisp got on with a single and Jonathan Fitz walked to load the bases for Eddie Peters, who singled to right field. Morton and Crisp came home to give the Musketeers their first lead of the series.
Oregon State posted a four-run fourth to take the lead, and the 4-2 score held in to the sixth after Jack Nobe held the Beavers off the board for for the fourth and fifth. A solo home run for Oregon State made it 5-2 in the sixth and OSU added a pair in the eighth to set the final score at 7-2.
The series with the Beavers resumes on Sunday evening, with game three set for a 6:05 p.m. ET start, streamed live on Pac-12 Insider.
