Women's Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed for 2026 BIG EAST Championship

Musketeers open up play on Friday against winner of No. 8 Marquette and No. 9 Seton Hall
NEW YORK - Xavier women's tennis earned the No. 1 seed to the 2026 BIG EAST Championship, set to run from Thursday, April 16, through Sunday, April 19, in Cayce, S.C. This marks the fifth time since joining the BIG EAST that the Musketeers, the five-time defending conference champions, have earned the top seed for the league tournament.
Xavier earned a bye to the Quarterfinals and will open up play in the tournament on Friday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m., against the winner of the First Round match between No. 8 seed Marquette and No. 9 Seed Seton Hall.
The Musketeers are 13-8 on the season and 4-0 in BIG EAST matches with wins over Creighton, Marquette, DePaul and Butler.
Xavier is looking for its sixth-straight, and seventh overall, BIG EAST title, winning the league's championship and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship in each of the last five seasons (2021-25) as well in 2016. Â
