The senior golfer won her first career tournament on Saturday afternoon
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Madison Reemsnyder took home medalist honors at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational on Saturday. The two-day tournament was played at the OSU Golf Club - Scarlet Course.
Reemsnyder placed first in a field of 75 golfers with a 54-hole score of 213 (-3). She finished ahead of 10 golfers ranked in the top-120 in the NCAA by Scoreboard CLIPPD.
The tournament title is the first of Reemsnyder's career. The Canton, Ohio, native now has 15 career top-10 finishes.
Ohio State's Nellie Ong placed second with a score of 215 (-1), while Harvard's Vanessa Zhang placed third (217, +1).
The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 905 (+41), ranking fifth in a field of 14 teams. Xavier finished ahead of No. 43 Indiana (T-6) and No. 28 Northwestern (8th).
Since the start of the 2022-23 season, the Musketeers have posted 19 top-five finishes with five tournament titles and four runner-up finishes.
Ohio State won the tournamnet with a score of 890 (+26), while Iowa State finished second with a score of 892 (+28).
Xavier returns to action on April 25-27 at the BIG EAST Championships. The tournament is being played at Callawassie Country Club in Okatie, S.C.
