Women's Tennis Faces Vanderbilt in Nashville in 2026 NCAA Tournament

Musketeers making sixth-straight, and seventh overall, NCAA appearance
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis is set to travel to Nashville, Tenn., to face No. 14 seed Vanderbilt in the 2026 NCAA Championships at the Lummis Family Tennis Center on Friday, May 1, set for a 5:00 p.m. ET start.
The Musketeers enter the NCAA Championships at 16-8 overall, winning the last nine matches. Xavier claimed the program's sixth-straight conference title after defeating No. 2 seed DePaul, 4-1, to win the 2026 BIG EAST Women's Championship on Sunday, April 19, at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center. This is Xavier's sixth-straight NCAA appearance and seventh overall.
Vanderbilt, ranked No. 13 in the most recent ITA rankings, enters the tournament at 20-9 and 9-6 in SEC play, advancing to the league tournament's quarterfinals before falling to No. 2 Texas A&M. A trio of Commodores, Célia-Belle Mohr, Bridget Stammel and Valeria Ray were awarded with All-SEC honors. No. 11 Stammell, No. 32 Mohr and No. 33 Ray were all ranked in the top 40 of the most ITA Singles rankings. Additionally, Mohr and Sophia Webster earned the No. 6 doubles rankings, while Stammel and Ray combine for the No. 15 doubles rankings
The two programs faced off earlier this season in Nashville, with the Dores taking a 6-1 win. Madeleine Rexroat picked up a singles win on the No. 2 court, topping No. 15 ranked Valeria Ray, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5, for the highest ranked singles win in program history.
The winner of the match advances to face the winner of the match between Clemson and ETSU in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday, May 2, at 5:00 p.m. ET also held in Nashville.
