Nick Herdoiza and Alex Kotarski Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

Herdoiza earns a spot on the First Team; Kotarski picks up Second Team Honors
NEW YORK - Xavier men's tennis had a pair of Musketeers, Nick Herdoiza and Alex Kotarski, earn All-BIG EAST honors following the 2026 season, the league office announced on Thursday. Herdoiza picked up First Team honors, while Kotarski was named to the Second Team.
Herdoiza collected seven singles wins playing in the No. 1 spot, including a pair of victories over BIG EAST opponents. In Xavier's 5-2 win over Butler, he picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (4) over the Bulldogs' Riccardo Baldi. He also took a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Creighton's Kiran Patel to help Xavier to the 4-3 win over the Bluejays in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals to help Xavier to the Semifinals for a second-straight season.
Herdoiza also picked up four wins playing in the No. 1 doubles spot, playing primarily with Max Pettingell. He also partnered with Andrew Spurck in the No. 2 doubles spot.
Kotarski collected a team-high 13 singles win during the season, going 2-2 in the No. 1 spot and 4-3 in the No. 2 spot and 7-4 in the No. 3 spot. Among his wins where three victories over BIG EAST opponents, including helping Xavier advance to the Semifinals in the BIG EAST Tournament, with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot to help Xavier to the 4-3 win over Creighton in the Quarterfinals.
Kotarski collected nine doubles wins, including six in the No. 1 spot, playing primarily with Max Pettingell.
The Musketeers, who matched their program-best seeding in the BIG EAST Championship with a three seed, wrapped up the season at 10-14, marking the fourth time in the last five seasons the program has hit double figures in the win column, and advanced to the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals for a second-straight year.
