Musketeers finish season at 16-9, with sixth-straight BIG EAST Championship and NCAA appearance
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Xavier women's tennis wrapped up the 2026 season in the first round of the NCAA Championships, falling to No. 14 Vanderbilt on Friday in Nashville.
The 2026 Musketeers finished the season at 16-9 overall and claimed the program's sixth-straight BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championship and made the program's sixth-straight, and seventh overall, NCAA appearance. Xavier went 9-1 over the final 10 matches of the dual season.
Seniors Emily Flowers, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski collected 63 wins during their four seasons as Musketeers, going 4-of-4 on BIG EAST Championships and NCAA appearances during their time at Xavier.

In doubles play, Vanderbilt took a 6-0 decision on court No. 2 against Ella DeFord and Madeleine Rexroat in the first decision, and clinched the point on court No. 3 with a 6-1 win against Emily Flowers and Natalie Smitek. Abby Nugent and Clara Owen trailed 5-3 on court No. 1 when the point was decided.
The Commodores made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Abby Nugent on singles court No. 1. A 6-1, 6-3 win over Natalie Smitek on court No. 6 made it a 3-0 Vanderbilt lead. The Commodores clinched the match on court No. 2, with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Madeleine Rexroat.
