Women's Soccer Takes 3-1 Win over Western Michigan

O'Brien scores opener, Bradley knocks in game-winner and Dancer adds insurance goal
CINCINNATI -Â Xavier women's soccer picked up a 3-1 win over Western Michigan at Corcoran Field on Sunday afternoon, moving the Musketeers to 4-2 on the season.
Xavier took the lead in the opening minutes, with Brooklyn O'Brien scoring her fourth of the season, from Frances Reuland, to put the Musketeers in front less than three minutes into the match.
Kieran Bradley doubled the Musketeers' lead in the 39th minute, scoring off a service from Abby Unkraut to make it a 2-0 Musketeer advantage. The Broncos scored in the final minute of the half to cut Xavier's lead back to one, 2-1, going into halftime.
The Musketeers had a 9-6 advantage on shots in the first half, and a 2-1 advantage on shots on-goal, with all three looks on-frame for either side finding the back of the net.
Less than five minutes into the second half, Regan Dancer's first goal of the season pushed the Xavier lead back to two, 3-1, off another assist from Reuland.
Xavier's defense limited Western Michigan to one shot in the second half, with the Musketeers finishing with a 21-7 advantage on shots overall, a season-high on shots for XU.
The Musketeers head out on the road to face Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Sept. 17 in Richmond, Ky. The Musketeers and the Colonels get underway at 4:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

- Abby Unkraut picked up an assist on Bradley's goal, marking her first point as a Musketeer.
- Nastassja Garrett played the full 90 minutes on the Xavier backline, helping hold the Broncos without a shot for the final 43 minutes of action.
- Sami Lipcon played the full 90 minutes in-frame, allowing one goal and picking up the win, her third of the season.
