2007...Xavier's nomination for The 2008 Golden Spikes Award which recognizes the country's top collegiate baseball player...made 13 starts on the season and one more appearance in relief...picked up his first win of the season in dramatic fashion, throwing a 9.0 inning shutout at Saint Louis (3/31)...it was one of two starts he did not allow an earned run with the other coming in a 7.0 inning effort at Rhode Island where he suffered his only conference loss of the season...had a career-high five strikeouts at Duke (3/7) going 7.2 innings and allowing only one earned...won four straight conference starts from March 31 to April 21...tied his career high of five strikeouts in his win over Temple (4/21)...had a team-best 2.83 ERA in conference action and finished with a 4-1 record...was tied for second with four wins on the season...ranked third in innings pitched (81.0) and strikeouts (47)
2006...took the mound on seven occasions and made two starts...saw his first collegiate action versus Toledo (4/5) going 1.0 innings and only giving up one hit...earned his first career strikeout versus Indiana (4/12) in one inning of work...made the first start of his career at Ohio (4/19) earning the no-decision and throwing a career-high 4.0 innings while allowing one earned on two hits with a career-high three strikeouts...tied his career high with another three strikeout performance at La Salle (5/13) as he struck out the side in his one inning of work...picked up his first collegiate save the following game at Saint Joseph's (5/19) throwing 1.1 innings...finished the season with nine strikeouts in only 11.1 innings pitched...allowed only seven hits and three earned for a team-best 2.38 ERA
