Chris Black joined the Musketeer men's soccer program in February of 2016 as goalkeeper coach.
Black, who joined Xavier from the Kings Hammer Soccer Club, is a long-time assistant coach at the collegiate level, working primarily with goalkeepers.
Black has collegiate experience at Slippery Rock, Cincinnati, Wright State and Findlay. He has trained multiple all-conference keepers during his coaching stops, most recently serving as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock from 2011-12.
Black was a four-year starter at the University of Findlay from 1997-2001, earning Team MVP honors as a senior. His first coaching appointment was also at Findlay, where he helped lead the team to the 2002 NCAA Division II semifinals.
A 2001 graduate of Findlay with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Black holds coaching certificates that include the USSF National `D' License, NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma, and NSCAA Premier Diploma.
