Grimes helped coach All-BIG EAST performer A'riana Gray in 2019-20. The forward led the conference in rebounding for the second time in as many seasons. She also helped coach point guard Aaliyah Dunham who finished the season averaging 4.5 assists per game, ranking fourth in the BIG EAST.
In 2018-19 at LeMoyne, Grimes helped the Dolphins capture their first ever conference title and advance all the way to the NCAA DII East Regional – another program first. All told, LeMoyne posted a 43-17 overall record with Grimes on the bench.
Prior to LeMoyne, Grimes was an assistant coach at the University of Albany from 2010-16 where she helped the Great Danes win five conference titles and participate in five NCAA Tournaments. Albany posted a 146-47 overall record with Grimes as an assistant coach.
She also coached two of the top-three scorers in Albany history, Imani Tate and Ebone Henry, and the program’s all-time leading rebounder in Julie Foster. Tate was a two-time all-conference player and Henry was the 2013 America East Co-Player of the Year.
Grimes also has assistant coaching stops at Syracuse (2005-10) and LeMoyne (2003-05). She assisted in helping Syracuse advance to three postseason tournaments including one NCAA Tournament berth.
Grimes played collegiately at Siena College from 1999-03 where she helped the Saints capture three Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) titles. The Saints made three postseason appearances highlighted by the 2001 NCAA Tournament.
