John Allare joined the Xavier tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach prior to the start of the spring 2015 season.
A 2009 graduate of Michigan State University, Allare has remained active in tennis since his collegiate career ended, serving as a tennis pro at the Club at Harper's Point in Cincinnati. Allare has remained part of the competitive scene in Cincinnati as well, partnering with Matthews to claim the doubles title at the 2013 Thomas E. Price Cincinnati Metropolitan Tennis Tournament.
Allare, a four-year starter at Michigan State, played in the No. 1 singles and doubles spot for the Spartans. As a senior, Allare earned a national ranking in doubles from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association after facing some of the best programs in the country in the Big Ten Conference.
Allare is a native of Maineville, Ohio, is a 2005 graduate of Kings High School, where he was a four-year member of the varsity tennis team. At Kings, Allare was the 2005 Ohio High School State Singles Champion, earned the 2004 and 2005 FAVC Player of the Year award and was named a 2005 High School All-American.Â
