XU Swimming Begins Final Day of Atlantic 10 Championships
2004 A-10 Championships Conclude Tonight in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Xavier had multiple swimmers qualify for the finals in all seven individual events on Saturday morning in the final preliminaries of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships.
Junior Janet Heil (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) broke the school record in the 200 Butterfly as she ranked sixth with a time of 2:08.43. She was followed by freshman Jill Cooke (Houston, Texas/Clear Creek) in 12th place and sophomore Sarah Brown (Raliegh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) in 14th place.
The Xavier women had their best team performance in the 200 Breaststroke as four Musketeers reached the finals. Junior Becky Faust (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy), freshman Krystel Kooyman (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) and junior Sarah Blush (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) qualified sixth through eighth while senior Danielle Miller (Middletown, Ohio/Lakota East) was 10th.
Xavier's women added two finalists each in the 200 Backstroke and 100 Freestyle.
Seniors Molly Moeller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and Heather Greidanus (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) were eighth and 15th respectively in the 200 Backstroke.
Senior Angie Hinrichs (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley), the 2002 A-10 Champion in the 100 Freestyle, qualified for the finals in third position. She was follwed by freshman Dana Hunter (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) win 12th place.
The Musketeer men also had their best team performance in the 200 Breaststroke as junior Matt Young (Mt. Washington, Ky./St. Xavier), senior Jeremy Clark (Marion, Ohio/Marion Harding) and freshman Joe Conklin (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) all reached the finals. Young was eighth while Clark was ninth and Conklin was 13th.
The men also had two finalists each in the 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle and 200 Butterfly.
In the 200 Backstroke, senior John Janszen (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) placed fourth while freshman Mike Thallemer (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community) was 13th.
Sophomore David Janszen (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) led the way in the 100 Freestyle, placing 10th. Classmate Daniel Milheim (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) followed in 12th place.
Finally, sophomore Kyle Hawley (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) was fifth in the 200 Butterfly while freshman Neil Reierson (Chaska, Minn./Chaska) was 10th.
