XU Women's Tennis Wins, 5-2, Over Chicago State

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Xavier women's tennis team tallied its sixth win of the year with a 5-2 victory over Chicago State Sunday afternoon in a neutral site match at Missouri's Green Tennis Center. The Musketeers are now 6-2 for the season while Chicago State falls to 0-2 for the year.
The first point of the match was won by Xavier as the Musketeers took two of three doubles matches. Freshmen Christie Pleiman and Tifanie Treece teamed up to defeat Yosefin Rustandar and Peggy Moore, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles. At the three spot, the duo of senior Annie Diedalis and sophomore Jill Ducro downed Ameena Payne and Nia Randall, 8-1.
In singles, XU got wins at four out of the six positions including wins from juniors Kara Courtney and Jeanette Feider, sophomore Kaitlyn Zinn and freshman Kelsey Kinnard.
The Musketeers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they open the home portion of their 2008 spring schedule, playing host to Butler. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Mercy Healthplex Fairfield.
