COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Xavier women's tennis team lost for only the second time this season Saturday afternoon, 6-1, to the Missouri Tigers. The XU doubles team of juniors Kara Courtney and Jeanette Feider upset UM's 43rd-ranked duo of Mallory Weber and Chrissy Svetlic, 8-4. The Musketeers fall to 5-2 while the Tigers improve to 4-1 on the year.
Missouri picked up the first point of the match by winning the other two doubles matches.
In singles action, sophomore Jill Ducro extended her unbeaten singles streak to seven in a row by defeating Sofia Ayala, 6-2, 6-1. Ducro's win at No. 5 was Xavier's lone point of the match.
The Musketeers return to action Sunday, Feb. 10, as they take on Chicago State in a neutral site match on Missouri's campus. First serve is set for 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CT).
