TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - With back-to-back four-run innings, the Xavier baseball team overcame a five-run deficit to take down the Indiana State Sycamores Tuesday night at Sycamore Field. In addition to Thomas, seniors Sean Farrell and Adam Pasono each had two hits on the night and three Musketeers recorded doubles in the contest as well.
Indiana State (33-15) was able to tally two runs in the first frame as an RBI-single from Nick Ciolli scored Kyle Burnam and Luke Fieser followed with a sacrifice fly to score Brady Shoemaker. The Sycamores held the early 2-0 lead heading into the second inning.

A base on balls and back-to-back singles loaded the bases for Indiana State with two outs in the third. Pasono led off the sixth with a single, stole second and made it around to the hot corner as junior Drew Schmidt reached on an error. Senior Sean Farrell collected the game-tying RBI as his singled plated Pasono. With two men on, Thomas sent an opposite field long ball over the right field fence for his 14th home run of the season as XU took its first lead of the day, 9-6.

Xavier took the victory, 9-8, for its 31st win of the year, the second highest wins total in school history.
