Musketeers Trump Lipscomb

CINCINNATI - Men's tennis turned the tides in competition Saturday afternoon to top off Lipscomb, 5-2.
With intense doubles play to begin the afternoon, men's tennis came up just short missing the doubles point against a gritty Lipscomb team. Michael Moe and Connor LaFavre were the only Musketeers to improve upon their record in doubles competition by defeating Rob Mitchell and John Tougher, 6-4.
The Musketeers quickly turned the tides in singles, winning five of its six singles matches in very close sets.
Matt Bishop obtained the first victory for the Musketeers knocking off Alex Pavel in two sets 7-5, 6-2. Jeremy Schneider tightened his racket strings to pull out a point in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 against Alejandro Manzanaros. Captain Zach Mueck soon followed up his two teammates by defeating Rob Mitchell in identical sets of 7-6. Freshmen Gabriel Chaves Araujo and Arthur Stefani each grabbed wins of their own to capture victory for Xavier.
Men's tennis will be back in action January 28th, to match up against a talented Toledo team. Play will be held at the Eastern Hills Tennis Complex and will begin at 12 p.m. #LetsGoX
