Vasquenza, Jaye Bring Home BIG EAST Weekly Honors

Jaye's clean sheet, Vasquenza's game-winner against Marquette earn duo honor roll spots
NEW YORK – Sophomore forward Matt Vasquenza and graduate student goalkeeper Dallas Jaye were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for their efforts in securing a league win over Marquette on Saturday night.
The Musketeers (9-4-1, 3-2-1 BIG EAST) were 1-0 winners in the 95th minute over visiting Marquette, getting the game-winner from Vasquenza. The East Hampton, Conn. native snapped a personal scoreless stretch of five matches with his first game-winner of the season. He is Xavier's second-leading scorer with four goals and an assist on the season.
Jaye kept rolling in goal, posting his sixth clean sheet and tying a career-high with six saves against the Golden Eagles. The San Ramon, Calif. native faced 10 shots and defended nine corners, helping Xavier post a sixth shutout in nine matches. Jaye also improved to 7-1-1 in net as a starter and lowered his goals against average to 0.32 – a mark that ranks third in the nation.
Xavier returns to action on Wednesday night, visiting No. 1 Creighton at Morrison Stadium. First touch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
