Women's Tennis Swept By No. 48 DePaul

CHICAGO - The women's tennis team dropped its first BIG EAST match of the season to No. 48 DePaul, 7-0. The women's record is now 4-3 on the season.
After dropping the doubles point, Xavier made their way to singles competition. Cristina Di Lorenzo competed at the No. 4 position where she was able to steal the second set form Patricia Fargas, but it was not enough to win the match. Fargas defeated Di Lorenzo, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
At the first and second singles positions, Sydney Liggins and Alex Brinker faced nationally ranked opponents, No. 117 Yuliya Shupenia and No. 120 Patricia Lancranjan, respectively. Shupenia beat Liggins, 7-6, 6-4, and Lancranjan beat Brinker, 6-3, 6-4.
At No. 3 Amina Ismail dropped her match to Ana Vladutu, 6-2, 6-2. While at No. 5 and No. 6, DePaul was able to take both of the matches from Xavier's Lauren Ghidotti, 6-2, 6-3, and Daniella Patton, 6-3, 6-2.
The Musketeers have a quick turnaround for they are back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. against the Flames of Illinois-Chicago
