Women's Tennis Bounces Back Against UIC

CHICAGO - After falling to DePaul on Saturday, the women's tennis team beat University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) Sunday, 7-0.
"Today the team competed really well against University of Illinois at Chicago," said senior captain Daniella Patton. "It was a great turn around from the match yesterday."
Xavier started off strong grabbing the doubles point with Patton and Lauren Ghidotti beating Jackie Altansarnai and Ann-Sophie Hahn, 6-0, and Alex Brinker and Cristina Di Lorenzo defeated Bianca Zuzu/Melika LeBlanc, 6-1.
Sydney Liggins defeated Keti Mebuke in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 1 singles position. Brinker won her match due to retirement of Altansarnai.
Amina Ismail beat UIC's Oana Manole, 6-4, 6-3, then at No. 4 Di Lorenzo defeated Hahn in three sets, 6-0, 5-7, 10-6.
Rounding out singles competition and the sweep was Ghidotti and Patton defeating Zuzu, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7, and LeBlanc, 6-1, 6-4, respectively.
The team's next match is against Dayton on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.
