Musketeers improve to 7-4.
CINCINNATI - In the women's tennis team's lone match of the weekend, the Musketeers blank Northern Kentucky Friday night at Eastern Hills to earn their seventh win of the season.
Doubles play started the match off strong with no duo allowing their opponent to win more than two games. Alex Brinker and Cristina Di Lorenzo downed Nicole Soutar and Hailey Shanahan, 6-0, at the No. 2 doubles position. Lauren Ghidotti and Sophia Abelson defeated Sierra Nellessen and Sydney Power, 6-2. Rounding out doubles play, Sydney Liggins and Amina Ismail beat Klara Skopac and Danielle Donahue, 6-1.
To start of singles play Abelson's match was retired, and Liggins downed Skopac, 6-1, 6-2.
Di Lorenzo beat Power, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 2 singles position. Then Brinker allowed Nellessen to win only one game in her earn Xavier a point, 6-0, 6-1.
Rounding out singles play, Ismail defeated Donahue, 6-2, 1-6, 10-0, and Ghidotti downed Soutar, 6-1, 6-0.
