Musketeers return to action on Thursday at UC for the first of a three-game set against crosstown rival
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Musketeers, who dropped to 7-13 overall on the season. OSU won its fifth consecutive game, improving to 12-6-1.

• Xavier got multi-hit efforts from Will LaRue (2-for-5, HR), Chris Givin (2-for-5, R), Dan Rizzie (2-for-4, 2 R), Joe Gellenbeck (3-for-5, 2 RBI) and David Morton (2-for-4, RBI).
• Andre Jernigan (1-for-5, HR), Matt Fallon (1-for-4) and Rylan Bannon (1-for-4) also added hits for Xavier.
• Andre Jernigan hit his fourth homer of the year in the first inning and Will LaRue added another longball – his first of the season – in the sixth inning for the Musketeers.
• XU has now hit 12 homers in its last five games, including five straight games with at least two longballs.
• Gellenbeck had a pair of RBI, increasing his team-best total to 13 for the season.
• Chris Givin had his second straight two-hit day and now has a hit in seven of his last eight starts. He leads the team with a .345 batting average and has scored in each of the last five games.
• XU came into the night tied for tops in the nation in steals (49) and added five more, as LaRue, Givin, Rizzie, Gellenbeck and Morton all swiped a bag.
• LaRue came into the night second in the nation in steals and added his 20th of the season in the second inning. He now has a steal in each of his last five games.
• LaRue has been swinging a hot bat lately and – with his 2-for-5 night tonight – is now 13-for-28 (.464) in his last seven games.

• Lefty Brad Kirschner made his first start of the season, going 4.2 innings and allowing just two earned runs to go with four strikeouts. He scattered six hits and did not factor into the decision.
• Trey Schramm and Taylor Williams were tagged for eight earned runs in the final 3.1 innings as OSU completed its comeback rally. Most of the damage came on a grand slam in the sixth inning by OSU's Brady Cherry.

FIRST INNING: Chris Givin singled to center with one out, stole second and came around to score on a double to left center by Joe Gellenbeck. Andre Jernigan followed with a two-run homer to right field, giving Xavier a 3-0 lead early.
THIRD INNING: Dan Rizzie worked a leadoff walk and stole second, coming around to score on a two-out single to left center by David Morton.
FIFTH INNING: Dan Rizzie led off with a single to center and scored on double down the left field line by Joe Gellenbeck.
SIXTH INNING: Will LaRue hit a solo homer to left center with two outs.
