Musketeers stand at fourth in the BIG EAST after first conference setback at Marquette
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's soccer (7-5-4; 3-1-2 BIG EAST) closes out it's home schedule for the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 19, when the Musketeers host Seton Hall (0-9-5; 0-3-3 BIG EAST) at 7:00 PM.

- The Pirates enter the game at 0-9-5 overall and 0-3-3 in BIG EAST play.
- Seton Hall is coming off a 1-0 loss at St. John's. SHU also suffered a 1-0 loss to Villanova and a 5-0 loss to then No. 17 Georgetown. The Pirates have earned draws at DePaul (1-1), with Butler (0-0) and against Creighton (1-1).
- Julia Stirpe leads SHU with five points on two goals and an assist, both matching for team high. Casey Harrigan also has two goals on the season.
- Anna MacLean has played the majority of time in-frame, collecting 35 saves with 17 goals against for a record of 0-6-2 in 10 appearances. Laura Dramis has appeared in six matches, collecting 25 saves with seven goals against.

- Xavier moved to 7-5-4 overall and 3-1-2 in BIG EAST play with the loss to Marquette. The setback ended to the longest conference unbeaten streak for the program since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.
- The loss moved the Musketeers to 1-3-1 away from home on the season, and 1-2-4 in overtime games.
- The game with Marquette marks the fourth time the Musketeers have been shutout this season.

- Schembri's three game-winners leads the Musketeers and tie for the second most in the conference. The number ranks 60th in NCAA Division I.
- Emma Westwater stands at second on the team with nine points on four goals and an assist.
- Tori Doss added three points in the opening weekend of BIG EAST play to match Samantha Dewey for third most on team at six.
- Carrie Lewis leads the team with four assists, ranked T-4th in the BIG EAST for total assists and T-6th in the BIG EAST with 0.25 assists per game.
- Toni Bizzarro ranks third in the BIG EAST and 46th in NCAA D-I in save percentage at .842 and fourth in the conference in shutouts (4).
- Bizzarro's total saves (85) rank second in the BIG EAST and 26th in NCAA D-I. Her saves per game (5.67) ranks second in the conference and 45th in the country.

- Xavier suffered its first setback in conference play on Saturday, Oct. 14, falling to Marquette in Milwaukee in the 93rd minute.
- After playing to a scoreless draw through regulation, Marquette won in the third minute of extra time on a golden goal. Off a long serve into the box, MU's Darian Powell used a header to send the ball over the heads of the Xavier defense.
- Toni Bizzarro collected seven saves to keep the Golden Eagles off the board during regulation. The goal in extra time is only the third Bizzarro has allowed in six conference matches.
- The best chance of the day for the Musketeers came 78th minute when a long serve off a place kick from Abby O'Keefe found Carrie Lewis in the box. Lewis' header bounced off the pole to Sydney Schembri, in the six-yard box with an open net. Schembri's look went over the crossbar. Schembri lead the Musketeers with three shots, including a pair on frame.
- Each team took 10 shots and four corner kicks in regulation. The only shot of extra time was MU's game-winner.
- Andie Kennard, Carly Alfano and Maddie Tierney played the full time on the backline. O'Keefe, Courtney Lankford and Skylar Groth also played the full time.
