MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Xavier volleyball opened its weekend road trip with a three-set loss (19-25, 19-25, 23-25) at Marquette on Friday night.

The Musketeers moved to 7-17 (2-8 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles improved to 15-6 (9-1 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Junior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 19 digs. The junior libero continues to lead the BIG EAST in digs, averaging 4.55 digs per set.

• Xavier held a 5-2 advantage in aces, paced by freshman Nadia Dieudonne who had three. She added eight assists on the night.

• The Musketeers posted eight more blocks (14-6) than the Golden Eagles, paced by Alexis Newsome who posted six. Xavier has had 10 or more blocks in a match 11 times this season.

• Junior Laura Grossman led the Musketeers in kills with 12. The outside hitter also added a team-best .423 hitting percentage.

• McKena Estes led the team in assist with 10. The junior setter chipped in seven digs.

• Freshman Maya Krause added six kills and two blocks, while senior Lauren Frilling posted four kills and four blocks.
