Xavier's Offense Overpowers Morehead State in Season Opener, 101-49

Trevon Bluiett leads all scorers with 25 points
CINCINNATI – Senior Trevon Bluiett led the Musketeers with 25 points and five rebounds, leading the Musketeers to their first win of the season against Morehead State. Xavier reached triple digits and shot 67.9 percent from the field.
• Xavier got off to a strong start by jumping out to a 15-1 lead in the first three minutes of the half, with J.P. Macura scoring the team's first seven points.
•Trevon Bluiett led the Musketeers with 21 points on 7-for-9 shooting, including five 3-pointers. J.P. Macura followed with 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting as Xavier outscored Morehead State, 62-24.
•The Musketeers shot 75.9 percent from the field and 78.6 percent from behind the arc.
•Tyrique Jones led the Musketeers with five of their 19 rebounds. Xavier also forced nine turnovers, converting the miscues into 15 points.

• Xavier out-rebounded Morehead State, 41-32, and scored 24 points off of turnovers.

• Xavier's 62 points in the first half is the most points by a Xavier team in any half since Xavier scored 68 points in the first half against Farleigh Dickenson in the 2012-13 home opener.
• The last time the Musketeers scored more than 50 points in a first half was in a 97-82 win last season against St. John's.
• Xavier's 52-point margin of victory is the team's largest since the Musketeers defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 118-61, on Nov. 24, 1997.
