The senior posted a career-high 17 kills to go along with 20 digs

QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior Samantha Foti posted a career-high 17 kills on Friday night, leading the Xavier volleyball team to a five-set (25-18, 15-25, 25-20, 21-25, 17-15) win at St. John's.

The Musketeers moved to 12-19 (7-10 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Red Storm dropped to 15-17 (7-10 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Samantha Foti posted a career and match-high 17 kills. She added a team-high 20 digs as the senior collected her third double-double of the season. The outside hitter also had two aces on the night.

• Audrey Adams posted a career-high 16 kills to go along with a team-high .419 hitting percentage. Laura Grossman added 13 kills and nine digs.

• Alexis Newsome had nine kills and a team-high four blocks. The middle blocker also posted a .400 hitting percentage.

• Meredith Klare also posted 20 digs for the Musketeers as four players had 10 or more digs. Olivia Hart added a career-high 18 digs for the Musketeers.

• Mackenzi Humm recorded a double-double as the setter had a team-high 34 assists to go along with 10 digs. McKena Estes added 29 assists.

• Freshman Moriah Hopkins posted a career-high nine kills ith a .409 hitting percentage. She also had two blocks.

• The match featured 29 ties and 14 lead changes.

• Xavier moved to 10-1 in the all-time series with the Red Storm.
