CINCINNATI – Xavier volleyball wraps up its season on Nov. 17-18 with back-to-back BIG EAST matches. The Musketeers (11-19, 6-10 BIG EAST) play at St. John's (15-16, 7-9 BIG EAST) on Friday at 4 p.m. and at Seton Hall (16-13, 10-6 BIG EAST) on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• Alexis Newsome posted a Xavier single-match school record of 12 blocks. The previous record of 11 total blocks was set by Alex Blair on Sept. 19, 2014 against Lipscomb. The middle block also added 12 kills on the night for her second career double-double.
• The Musketeers posted 23 total team blocks, tied for the 12th most in the NCAA this season.
• Senior Lauren Frilling posted 10 kills and a career-high 10 blocks, while adding six digs.
• Freshman Maya Krause recorded a season-high 15 blocks.

• Freshman Maya Krause led the Musketeers with 13 kills. The outside hitter added seven digs and two blocks.
• Junior Morgan Finn added nine kills, while Moriah Hopkins chipped in six. Laura Grossman added five kills.
• Junior McKena Estes posted a match-high 23 assists to go along with eight digs. Mackenzi Humm added 10 assists and four digs, while Nadia Dieudonne recorded eight assists and five digs.
• Meredith Klare recorded a match-high 15 digs to go along with three assists.

BIG EAST HONORS

• Audrey Adams was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The redshirt-freshman led the Musketeers in kills (21) last weekend as the volleyball team posted a 1-1 record.

• The Indianapolis, Ind., native averaged 3.00 kills per set over the two matches, while adding four digs and two blocks. She posted a career-high 14 kills with a .400 hitting percentage in the team's four-set win over Providence on Sunday.

• The middle blocker has recorded 85 kills and 23 blocks during BIG EAST action this season, while posting a .286 hitting percentage to rank 15th in the conference.

LAST TIME OUT - XU VS PC

• Xavier volleyball posted a four-set win (25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 25-14) over Providence on Sunday, Nov. 12.

• Audrey Adams posted a career-high 14 kills to pace the Musketeers. She added a team-high .400 hitting percentage.

• Samantha Foti added 12 kills and a team-high 16 digs, her second double-double of the season. Laura Grossman rounded out the Xavier players with double-figure kills with 11.

• Lauren Frilling added nine kills and two blocks, while Alexis Newsome chipped in eight kills and four blocks. Both teams posted five total team blocks.

• Setters McKena Estes and Mackenzi Humm both posted double-doubles. Estes finished with 24 assists and 12 digs, while Humm had 19 assists and 15 digs.

RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCE

• Alexis Newsome posted a Xavier single-match school record of 12 blocks against St. John's on Oct. 7. The previous record of 11 total blocks was set by Alex Blair on Sept. 19, 2014 against Lipscomb. The 12 blocks also rank 12th in the NCAA this season for single-match performances (five sets).

• The Musketeers posted 23 total team blocks, tied for the fourth most in the NCAA this season.

NOTABLES

• Xavier ranks second in the BIG EAST in digs (16.12 d/s), while ranking 81st nationally. The Musketeers also rank third in blocks (2.35 b/s) in the conference, ranking 72nd nationally in the statistical category.

• Meredith Klare leads the conference in digs per set (4.43), while ranking 83rd nationally in total digs (483).

• Alexis Newsome and Lauren Frilling both rank in the top-10 of the BIG EAST stats in blocks. Newsome ranks fifth (1.08 b/s), while Frilling ranks eighth (0.92 b/s). Newsome also ranks 12th in hitting percentage (.284).

• Senior Mackenzi Humm ranks 10th in school history in assists with 1,963. The setter has averaged 5.29 a/s this season.

• The Xavier volleyball program captured its 800th program victory against Villanova on Oct. 28. The Musketeers have posted an 801-614 record in 44 years of competition.

KLARE - XU RECORD BOOK

• Meredith Klare ranks fourth in school history in digs with 1,444. The junior libero is 166 digs shy of moving into third place.

• The libero has 483 assists this season, ranking seventh in XU single-season history.

MASSA - CAREER MILESTONE

• Senior Kristen Massa eclipsed the 1,000-career kill mark in the Musketeers' 3-1 win over Albany on Saturday, Sept. 16. She now has 1,017 kills over her career as the outside hitter has averaged 2.59 k/s during her career.

PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST

• Senior Kristen Massa was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Massa, a 2015 All-BIG EAST First Team selection, ranked third on the team in kills (292) last season, while adding 47 blocks and 63 digs. The Cincinnati native had 10 or more kills in 16 matches.

PRESEASON POLL

• The Musketeers were picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll as selected by conference head coaches. The Musketeers finished tied for second in the BIG EAST standings a year ago and advanced to the conference tournament championship match before being defeated by No. 21 Creighton.

SCHEDULE NOTES

• Xavier faces seven teams that participated in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Seventeen of the Musketeers 23 opponents posted a winning record last year.

• The Musketeers' 23 opponents combined to post a 433-289 record last season with a .600 winning percentage. Xavier's opponents averaged 18.8 wins a year ago.

BIG EAST NOTES

• Xavier has posted a 57-29 record in BIG EAST play since joining the conference in 2013. The Musketeers have advanced to the conference tournament in all four seasons.

• The BIG EAST Tournament will be hosted by Marquette after being held at Butler in 2016.

ABOUT THE TEAM

• Xavier posted a 20-13 (13-5) record last season under head coach Christy Pfeffenberger. The 20-win campaign was the 21st in program history.

• The Musketeers overall record of 20-13 last year was the programs 19th consecutive season with a .500 or above record.

• Head coach Christy Pfeffenberger has posted a 49-44 overall record in three seasons with the Musketeers, including a 33-19 mark in BIG EAST play.
