No. 15 Xavier Improves to 4-0 With a 96-60 Win Over Hampton

Trevon Bluiett scores 21 points to lead the Musketeers
CINCINNATI –No. 15 Xavier used a strong second-half and a 21-point effort by Trevon Bluiett to beat Hampton, 96-60, and improve to 4-0 for the season. Bluiett has been the Musketeers leading scorer in three of their four games.

FIRST HALF |
- The Musketeers got off to a slow start, trailing 10-8 at the 16-minute mark, but back-to-back three pointers by Trevon Bluiett and Kaiser Gates started a Xavier 8-0 run to make the score 16-10.
- Bluiett led Xavier with 10 points as he scored seven of Xavier's first 11 points.
- Freshmen Naji Marshall and Paul Scruggs added a spark for the Musketeers off the bench, with Marshall scoring eight points on 4-for-4 shooting and Scruggs adding six points.
- The Musketeers out-rebounded the Pirates, 24-14, with J.P. Macura and Sean O'Mara grabbing four rebounds each.
- The Musketeers' largest lead of the half came at the five-minute mark where they led by 12. Xavier maintained its 12-point lead by ending the half ahead, 43-31.

SECOND HALF |
- Xavier pulled away in the second half by starting the half on a 14-6 run to take its first 20-point lead of the game, 57-37. The Musketeers largest lead of the game was 38 points with just under a minute left in regulation.
- After being held scoreless in the first half, Quentin Goodin scored 10 points off of 4-for-7 shooting.
- Kerem Kanter scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half, while grabbing four rebounds.
- The Musketeers got Hampton in foul trouble early in the half, with two players recording five fouls and three players recording four fouls.
- Kaiser Gates led Xavier with nine rebounds, while Naji Marshall followed with seven grabs as Xavier out-rebounded Hampton, 46-32, for the game.

- Trevon Bluiett has scored over 20 points in every game this season, making this the second time in his career that he has had four straight 20+ point games.
- Xavier outscored Hampton, 46-19, in the paint and recorded five blocks, with Sean O'Mara leading the team with two.
