Women’s Golf Heads to Texas for UTRGV Invitational

MCALLEN, Texas – The Xavier women's golf team travels to Texas today for a spring break trip to the UTRGV Invitational in McAllen. The two-day event will take place at McAllen Country Club, which will be playing 5,924 yards and par 71.
The thirteen-team tournament field consists of the host team UTRGV, Creighton, Grand Canyon, Houston Baptist, McLennan CC, Portland State, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-International, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Xavier.
Head coach Breanna Patz is sending the whole squad to the event. Mikayla Fitzpatrick will be in the number one position, followed by Grace Howie, Mikayla Smith, Rachel Johnson and Lindsey Murray. Nina Kulkarni will be competing as an individual.
First round begins Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and continuous play for 36 holes.
