Men's Soccer Alum Garrett Halfhill Signs Contract with FC Cincinnati

Former midfielder appeared in spring friendly with FCC, expected to play tonight in U.S. Open Cup
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer alum Garrett Halfhill ('15) signed an amateur contract with FC Cincinnati for the remainder of the 2017 season on Wednesday.
Halfhill, a defender, will be eligible to play in all U.S. Open Cup and United Soccer League matches and has been part of the team's practice squad. Halfhill played for FCC in the friendly against UC earlier this season and is expected to see the pitch tonight against AFC Cleveland.
A four-year letter-winner at Xavier, Halfhill served as a key contributor in the midfield and as a team captain during his senior year. After an appearance in the BIG EAST Championship game, Halfhill helped lead XU to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 with a win over IU.
He holds XU's career record for matches played (84) in addition to matches played/started in a season (23).
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Halfhill played for Landstown High School and was an all-state honorable mention player.
Halfhill is now the third XU men's soccer alum to sign with FC Cincinnati since the club's formation in 2016, joining Dallas Jaye ('15) and Luke Spencer ('12). Jaye remains on roster with FCC, while Spencer is now playing for Louisville City FC.
