Musketeers and Panthers face off at 1 PM; Men follow against Drake at 5 PM
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's soccer continues its four-game home-stand on Sunday when the Musketeers host Pittsburgh on Sunday, August 27. The Musketeers (2-1-0) and Panthers (2-0-1) are set for a 1 p.m. first touch. The game is the first of a double header with Xavier men's soccer following against Drake at 5 p.m.

PREVIEWING PITT |
- Pitt is 2-0-1 on the season after playing Cincinnati to a 2-2 draw through double-overtime on Thursday evening.
- Panthers' point leader Taylor Price scored twice in the match-up with the Bearcats, tallying in the fifth minute and the 52nd minute to put Pitt up 2-0. After the second goal, UC responded with a quick pair, tying the match 2-2 in the 65th minute.
- Pitt picked up a pair of wins during the opening weekend, topping Hofstra, 1-0, in the season opener after Juelle Love scored in the 87th minute to win in regulation. The Panthers picked up another 1-0 win in overtime against Duquesne last Sunday, winning on Vildan Kardesler's golden goal in the 100th minute.
- Pitt finished the 2016 season 2-15-1 overall and 1-9-0 in ACC play.
- Last season in Pittsburgh, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead over the Musketeers in the first half. Xavier responded in the second half with a tally from Samantha Dewey to climb within one, but the Musketeers were unable to score the equalizer, falling 2-1.
- Last season's loss moved the Musketeers to 0-3 all time against Pitt.
- The 2017 match-up marks the first time the Musketeers have hosted Pitt since 2009.
- Pitt coach Greg Miller graduated from Xavier in 1993 with a degree in psychology. He spent four years in the men's soccer program ('90-'93), and was a part of the 1992 MCC Regular Season Champions under coach Jack Hermans.

- Xavier women's soccer moved to 2-1 on the season after topping Ball State, 1-0, at the XU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
- Midway through the first half, Tori Doss served the ball ahead to Samantha Dewey on the breakaway. Dewey found her way behind the BSU defense, shooting from straight-on, just outside the 18-yard box. The ball ricocheted off the cross bar into the net behind the Cardinals' goalkeeper to put the Musketeers ahead 1-0.
- Samantha Dewey's goal brought her team-high goal total to three through three games in the 2017 season. The junior forward also leads the Musketeers with six points on the season. Entering the day's action, Dewey's team-highs in points and goals led the BIG EAST.
- Redshirt-senior forward Tori Doss added a point after assisting on Dewey's game-winner, bringing her point total to three on the season after scoring against No. 12 Duke last Sunday.
- Toni Bizzarro collected eight saves in a complete game shutout to bring her win total to two for the season. Entering the day, her total saves led the BIG EAST Conference.
- Xavier moved to 2-0 on the season at home.

- Xavier men's and women's soccer season tickets are now on sale. Season ticket buyers will receive a limited edition Xavier soccer scarf with their purchase, marking the sixth year of the scarf program.
- Season tickets are just $25 each and include the limited edition scarf. Season ticket buyers will receive tickets that will provide admission to both men's and women's soccer regular season matches held at the Xavier Soccer Complex.
- Women's soccer will host a number of local opponents including Northern Kentucky and Dayton in addition to four BIG EAST foes as part of an 11-match home schedule.
- Soccer season tickets can be purchased online now. They can also be purchased by returning the order form or calling the Xavier Athletics Ticket office at 513-745-3411 x. 7. Season ticket buyers will be able to pick up their limited edition scarf at all August home matches, but should remember to bring their tickets to all matches for admission.
